Many of you know me as a writing teacher, but I do a lot of other things, too! I am also a student, social justice advocate, and ministry candidate with the Progressive Christian Alliance. I am currently working on my master's degree in Christian Ministries at the St. Paul of Theology. I write and research about the ways that people of faith can work for justice and mercy in our world.
I am married to my husband, Bo, and we have three children--Tarron (23), Magnolia (20), and Ezzy (17). I love being outdoors in my garden, walking my dogs, or riding my bicycle. When we can, my family also loves to get away for some hiking and camping.
Other fun facts about me:

Other fun facts about me:
- In addition to our two dogs, Robin and Happy, our family also has a pet chameleon named Cilantro.
- I also teach English has a second language to children in China. Because Beijing, China has a 13-hour time difference from Oklahoma, I have to wake up really early.
- I have around 50 house plants. I don't know for sure how many I have because every time I try to count them, I lose count or forget to include some.
- One of my favorite places to walk is actually a cemetery near my house. Sometimes I see people fishing in the cemetery's pond!
- For 10 years, my family lived in a geodesic dome before deciding we needed to move closer to my husband's job. Since the dome was on acreage, we had our own milk goats for a few years.
- Even though I've taught hundreds of times, I still get extremely nervous before teaching a class, but once I start teaching, I have so much fun that I completely forget that I was nervous.
